Chase Williams.

Broody. Damaged. Reclusive.

Heโ€™s been keeping to his ranch ever since he retired from the army. The scars on his body tell a story of pain and loss, and there is no denying the demons of the past hiding behind his serious gaze.

Chase claims he isn’t anybodyโ€™s savior, and yet, he keeps coming to my rescue.

Now that weโ€™re next-door neighbors, itโ€™s impossible to stay away. My son worships him, and the more time we spend together, the more I get to see the man hiding behind the scars.

And Iโ€™m not the only one. Chase sees me. Not just that, he makes me wish for things I never thought possible, but can two broken people like us ever heal and learn to trust in love again?

Make Me Trust Again is another great book in the Bluebonnet Creek series! I just loved reading Rose and Chases’ story. They were each unique and well-developed characters making them easy to like throughout the book. Rose and her son definitely deserved to find their happy ending. I was literally hooked on the story the entire time. This is definitely a must read book! I highly recommend reading this book and of course the rest of the series. Each book will not disappoint and I cannot wait to read more from Anna B. Doe!

Thank you Anna B. Doe for the ARC!

โœจExcerptโœจ

โ€œIโ€™m so sorry, I didnโ€™t realize heโ€”โ€
โ€œDonโ€™t you dare apologize for him.โ€
Roseโ€™s eyes flare in surprise at my harsh tone. โ€œHow can I not? Not only did he come here uninvited, but he was also extremely rude.โ€ She runs her fingers through her hair. โ€œNone of which you signed up for.โ€
Her face twists in pain as she lets her hand drop. The fingers of her other hand wrap around her wrist, rubbing gently.
โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ My eyes narrow at her, my feet moving before I can think twice about it. In two steps, Iโ€™m standing in front of her.
โ€œOh, itโ€™s nothโ€”โ€
I gently brush her fingers away and lift her hand up, and what I find makes the anger that was simmering inside me the moment I saw what was going on, the one Iโ€™ve been barely holding onto until now, as it is, come rushing up to the surface.
โ€œWhat the fuโ€”โ€
Deep red marks are marring her flesh, and I can already see the first signs of a bruise forming on her skin. My body is tense, and it takes everything in me to keep my hand relaxed so I donโ€™t hurt her even more.
โ€œItโ€™s fine. Itโ€™ll disappear.โ€
Disappear?
โ€œItโ€™s not fine!โ€
Rose jerks back at the harsh tone of my voice, and I curse myself for letting my temper get the better of me.
Inhaling deeply, I let my thumb skim over her skin. The slow circling motion grounds me. Her skin is soft, nothing like my calloused fingertips. This time, when I speak, my voice is gentler. โ€œHe left bruises on you,โ€ I whisper, slowly lifting my gaze to meet hers as my words ring in the air. That anger is still simmering, barely contained. โ€œItโ€™s most definitely not fine. I should have punched him when I had the chance.โ€
Her heartbeat kicks up a notch under my touch, goosebumps peppering her flesh.
โ€œNo.โ€ Rose shakes her head adamantly, the fingers of her free hand grabbing mine. โ€œYou canโ€™t do that. Itโ€™s not worth it. Heโ€™s not worth it.โ€
โ€œBut you are.โ€
